Mayor Rahm Emanuel is outlining his plans for a “New Chicago.” The infrastructure projects planned in his first term — including renovating 100 CTA stations, repaving half of the city’s 2,000 miles of streets and rebuilding so many parks that at least one will be within a 10-minute walk of every Chicagoan — are expected to cost $7.2 billion and will create 30,000 jobs. Tickets for this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival are now on sale, with more acts to be announced in the coming weeks.
Attention shoppers: Michigan Avenue Niketown to close for six months —The Niketown store at 669 N. Michigan Ave. will close Monday for a six-month-long renovation, temporarily laying off its 160 employees. The store is expected to re-open in mid-September.

Summer and Fall 2012 Registration begins on Monday, March 19th
It’s that time of year again… Registration begins on March 19th for continuing degree-seeking students for both summer and fall registration. In the past, summer and fall registration were two separate dates, but this year students can register for both concurrently. Fancy!

Taco Joint seeks to replicate success in River North: The owners of Taco Joint are hoping to replicate the Lincoln Park restaurant’s popularity with a second — and much larger — location set to open in June.

Come with the Exploration Leaders as we host a trip to explore the Armitage Brown Line stop/area! There are tons of cute boutiques to shop at, a Johnny Rockets, a Starbucks, a Wizard of Oz themed park, Lincoln Park Zoo, and tons of beautiful tree lined streets.
